Running bug

So I have found a new running buddy :-) annie from work is running the Bath race for life and has been training and today I joined her for a lovely 5k. Bearing in mind I havnt ran for a few weeks I was really pleased.

Im going to kick my butt back into gear for sure with this girls help :-)

Dinner and a game of skittles with friends then a nice lie in before another run tomorrow :-)

Wagon wheels are go

So today I had the realisation that I had fallen off the wagon well and truly.  I havnt quite reached the 16stone mark again but I was nearing it.

So today I am getting the wheels put back on my wagon and going for it.

Sat here on my night shift eating grapes strawberries and yoghurt and loving it :-) after these sets of nights im going to get my butt out running and going back to the gym.

Getting the bug forgot to post

So after the many night shifts and long weekend away for my mums birthday :-)

We went to london for the weekend and I had a lovely weekend of food ice cream sweeties lion king on stage and lots and lots of walking. Seeing the sights with my mum was amazing and I want to wish her a very happy birthday.

Whilst away I decided to set myself a goal. I will be back running 10k by september before I go on holiday. So that involves lots more running.

It feels a long way off at the moment as its been so long since I ran anywhere other than the treadmill. I havnt really got back into running since december before my operation. So yesterday and today I have been out. I had to walk but I dont care. I started off yesterday not even being able to make it 1 mile. I think I was being cautious about my pains. Whereas today I knew I didnt get pains yesterday so I could push it a little more. I got to the one mile mark in 11:09mins which is really good for me. Then I walked a while. Im taking a slightly different tactic to increasing my distance at the moment so we shall see how u get on. I will be running the mile and seeing how far I get and try and beat that the next time even if only by a few metres.

Tomorrow will be a gym day. I will try and run on the treadmill quicker than I do on the roads. I feel this will help increase my pace when on the roads.

Im going to get fit for holiday!!!!

Hospitals are boring

So last week .I woke up with awful pain in my stomach . I ended up in hospital querying whether I needed my appendix out. Later I was allowed to go home and rest. No strenous exercise incase id torn a muscle in my stomach.

So no more pain touch wood.

Speaking of wood. My friend is getting married tomorrow and will no longer be a miss wood but a mrs Wilkinson. Im looking forward to a day with friends and love :-)

Update on the house. We have signed our half of the contracts and are now waiting for a move date hopefully we will complate by the end of the month.

Lots of exciting things to come. So come on weight shift it!!!

Diet issues

So has many of you know I was trying to diet using the cambridge weight plan. Its a shake based low carb diet. It worked well for a while and I lost over 1 stone approching the 2 stone border.

Though one thing or another led to me putting half of that back on which I am not proud of at all.

So now im having a change of tactic. I am just going to eat all in moderation clean food but with a low carb background.

Body combat

So normally im the kind of person that avoids the gym at the busy times. Im not the work out in front of everybody person.

So today was a remotely different day.

I got up this morning to go toa body combat class. With an instructor and other people all doing the same thing :-)

I loved it. The workout challenged me and I could really feel my heart rate rising right from the start. Plus I had my HRM on so I could see that it was really doing something.

I really enjoyed myself and was disappointed it was over and that I couldn't do it again because my shifts dont work out right for me to go.

What this day has shown me is that I CAN do it and I will. 

Now for me its off to work my saturday late shift at the hospital with tense aching muscles :-) feel the burn!!!!

30 day shred

So ive done day one and two but due to shift work I can only do it when on a late shift. Today I was working an early and hoping once it gets cooler this evening ill get out for a nice long walk.

Whilst living with the in laws I feel they judge me if I do exercise so I always get discouraged from doing so but I feel I need to kick myself in the butt and get on with it!!!

Back on it

So in the last few weeks. I have lost track but heres why.

I know its supposed to be no excuses but im still going to live my life instead of hating my healthy lifestyle because it stops me doing things

So

I have bought a house... we arewaiting for the solicitors to do their bits between themselves then we shall sign contracts :-) and move in to our very first home together.

Celebrated that my sister is expecting my neice or nephew :-) she found out she was pregnant a couple of weeks ago and is waiting for her first midwife appt.

Been on a bender weekend. One of my very close friends is getting married after something like 9 years of engagement.  So we went to Southampton for a whole weekend;  it involved fine food lots of cocktails (which are of course loaded with sugar). It also involved hung over breakfasts in the form of fried food :-/ no wonder I had a weight gain. It was a brilliant weekend I'll never forget but now I need to work my butt off.

But a  positive

I have started the 30 day shred again alongside going to the gym. Now when I first started the 30 day shred, I had to pause and catch my breath more than once and couldnt do one press up. Now I have muscled through it without stopping and can do the whole first set of press ups (note not quite all the second set I lose it there but try to keep going). So for now thats my NSV as its a marked improvement on a year ago.

This week marks the start of a new month and a new outlook on this as I have no night shifts which means more workout time :-)

Iwant to take this moment to thank all of my MFP'S as they are amazing and never judge my slow progress and weight gains but keep me motivated.

Weight loss blog so its enough of house stuff although im megaa excited.
I have been doing well going to the gym and even been out for a brief jog. Working today and then thursday friday I have both afternoons off so gym time :-)
I feel 'tighter' around my hips but my legs dont seem to be catching on that they are supposed to change too :-/
Im drinking plentybof water and doing enough walking so I dont know
But equally a good week what with the stress and excitment hopefully I am on for a good loss over the next few months xx

Gym buddy

So im doing ok with going back to the gym :-) but theres one thing that is really helping.

My gym bud

Amy :-) we have known eachother for years and years and lost touch recently through working lives etc etc. But we went out for a dinner catch up and decided to both kick eachothers butts into check by making gym dates.

Neither of us want to let the other one down so we meet at the aggreed time and workout together.

Its much better and easier to do when someone else is there with you.

So I want to thank Amy for being there :-)

Busy few days before another set of night shifts for me. Gym this morning then work this afternoon.

Neglected??

Hi there Blogisphere

I have neglected you and for that I punish myself.

So here's a bit of an update:

In the last month I have put on weight I have stopped exercising and I have started hating it!!!

You see a lot has gone on to prevent me from a lot of it but there should be no excuse.

My boyfriend and I are searching for our very first house together. Between saving money viewing houses and mortgage advisors solicitors estate agents etc. that has made me short of time. Throw in there working full time shift work it gives me less.

I have had a couple of bits of bad news also. My boyfriends 3 year old cousin has been diagnosed with a brain tumour and is undergoing investigation; and a close family friend unfortunately passed away after a short battle with Cancer.

I am quite a sociable person and love seeing my friends and I don't want to miss out on that. I fear if I did I would be very unhappy.

So here I am a month on

I went back to the gym yesterday and have eaten well and am getting my butt back into shape as I have lots to look forward to :) holidays house weddings

So here is me back on it and from now I will try my hardest to blog more :)

Days off are for the gym

So I get a day off :-) and I spend the good portion of the day having a lie in then getting up to go to the gym :-)

Over the past few weeks my weight hasnt changed. I've stayed at 15st 9lbs. I havnt really concentrated on my food as well as I could and I haven't been able to exercise as much; so I guess its ok for it to stay the same. But ive got holidays to prepare for weddings to go to and best of all but not weight related, a house to buy :-)

Today was a successful day at the gym. For the past few weeks I haven't really been able to do an awful lot or been able to run for more than 5 minutes or so.

Today however I cycled 5km and then ran for 30minutes on the treadmill :-) I was chuffed with myself :-)

I took a couple of restarting refocussing photos and have done really well with my shakes and food today :-).

New year

Hello all.

Its 2014 and heres a year in review and my targets for this year.

So in 2013 I made the decision to change my life for the better. I made the decision that this was the time... my time to change my weight. I had always tried and did well for a little while then it all went back on plus a little more. Well id set my sights on more this time.

As with many people my weight has fluctuated throughout the year but the general pattern is heading downwards. Well I have had two holidays  4 weddings birthday and christmas after all :p O and surgery.

As some people know I had sugery at the beginning of December.  It all went well and I am looking forward to getting back to work and hoping that the procedure has made a huge difference to the pains I was having. So far so good. I am approaching the stage of getting back to work and that brings with it night shifts and increase in steps :-)

So over the past year I have lost 23 lbs. The lowest I had got my weight down to was 14stone 12lbs. My aim is to get back there before the end of February. Then use the rest of the year to get that figure down and the figure I want :-)

I told myself id log into my fitness pal every day over the year. Which I did :-) I recieved 365 days in a row and am still going.

I feel proud of what I have achieved and know that its something that I love doing. Its a journey that has barely begun :-) I feel more comfortable in my skin and even took a sneaky picture in the middle of marks and spencers of my reflection.
